What are supplements to insurance claims?
  • The process of submitting documentation to the insurance company in support of a property claim for a covered loss (such as a fire, water, weather, vandalism, mold, asbestos, etc.) includes an updated estimate, photo documentation, and, when applicable, state code documents and manufacturer warranty documents. After a covered loss, line items of repairs that weren’t on the insurance company’s first estimate would be included in the updated estimate in order to restore the property to its pre-loss state.
Why do I need to supplement my claims?
  • Typically excellent at their jobs, insurance adjusters may not always be very knowledgeable about construction. People with backgrounds in insurance adjusting, mitigation, restoration, roofing, and general contracting make up our team of highly skilled experts. We rely on our team’s extensive knowledge to know precisely what kinds of repairs are required for each sort of loss. We have the knowledge and supporting documents to back up our request for expanded coverage, and we can clearly identify which line items are excluded from carrier estimates. Many of insurance claims omit crucial line items that might significantly increase your bottom line’s profit.
How can Pinnacle Estimating help my company?
  • We act as a link between your three most important assets: Money, Time, and Effort.
    1) Using supplements to support your claims can help you earn more money. Imagine a 20–50% rise on each of your claims! That would be a game-changer for your company and for your sales force.
    2) Do you feel like the week should have additional days? How much time do you spend estimating and battling insurance companies? Imagine having more time to invest in activities that can advance your company.
    3) Concentrate your efforts where they will be most beneficial to your company, whether that be through hiring, training, selling, or expansion. Let us handle dealing with the hassles of insurance companies!
How does it work?
  • The process is simple! We’ll get started after you submit to us the roof measurement report, carrier estimate, and construction-related images. Once we have this information from you, we will update our estimate in Xactimate, compile our report with the necessary documentation and images, and submit it to the insurance provider. Typically, supplements are submitted three to five days after being received from the contractor. Once submitted, the insurance company usually needs 1-2 weeks to respond. The insurance provider will next email us a revised estimate (or approve ours), and your homeowner will receive the payment by mail. We’ll email you once the supplement has been resolved. The updated supplemental estimate and the invoice from Pinnacle Estimating are also included in this email from us.
What are the requirements to get started?
    • We require the following items to begin:
    • The insurance company’s most recent estimate
    • Photo report via a shared Google Drive folder or a PDF
    • Roof Report from GAF QuickMeasure, EagleView, or an equivalent program is preferred
    • Anything in particular you encountered during construction that needs to be added

When should I send my COC, NOC or final invoice?
  • A COC, NOC or final invoice can be sent anytime the work has been completed. It is important that any notification to the insurance company includes the submitted supplement amount.
What is my obligation to Pinnacle Estimating if my supplement is not accepted?

Although it is uncommon for supplements not to be granted, Pinnacle Estimating will not charge you if there is no increase in your claim.

What kind of photos are required?
  • Multiple photos of the damages in question will be required by insurance companies for any supplemented item. This includes flashings, gutters, decking and any omitted item.
How long does the turnaround usually take?
  • It takes approximately 1-3 weeks to resolve a supplement with the insurance provider. Please be aware that our goal is to work as quickly as possible and that issues with the insurance companies are typically to blame for any settlement delays. The insurance carrier may occasionally experience delays due to events beyond our control, such as a high number of storms leading to a high volume of claims on their end. Please note, excellent photos will reduce turnaround time.
